Technical Writer

About the Role

SpacePointe and EkiKart are building a specialized commerce and payments operating system serving retail, grocery, hospitality, warehouse distribution, embedded payments, and enterprise merchant environments.

We are hiring a highly technical, engineering-oriented Technical Writer who can operate at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, payments, product, and operations.

This is not a traditional documentation role.

We are specifically looking for someone with strong technical depth — someone who understands how systems are designed, integrated, deployed, and maintained. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working directly with engineers, architects, infrastructure teams, product managers, QA teams, and leadership to transform complex technical discussions into clear, scalable, enterprise-grade documentation.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining documentation across:

• System architecture and engineering design
• APIs and integration workflows
• Infrastructure and deployment systems
• Payments and fintech operations
• Merchant onboarding and operational flows
• QA/UAT testing processes
• Internal engineering standards
• Developer documentation and knowledge systems
• ISO/reseller and partner enablement documentation

This role is foundational to improving platform quality, engineering clarity, operational scalability, onboarding efficiency, and long-term platform maturity.

What We’re Looking For

You should have prior experience in:

• Software engineering

• Systems engineering

• Infrastructure/platform engineering

• OR

• Developer-facing technical documentation within a real engineering organization You must be comfortable understanding and documenting:

• APIs and SDKs

• Backend systems and system architecture

• Databases and data flows

• Distributed and event-driven systems

• Authentication and security workflows

• POS and payment ecosystems

• Hardware integrations

• Cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows

• Technical dependencies and operational processes

You should be able to:

• Read and understand code
• Follow technical implementation discussions
• Understand engineering tradeoffs
• Create structured technical specifications
• Translate complexity into usable documentation for both technical and operational teams

Key Responsibilities

You will own and maintain documentation across the platform, including:

• Technical design documents
• Architecture and infrastructure documentation
• API references and integration guides
• Payment and transaction flow documentation
• Deployment and operational runbooks
• Merchant and partner onboarding workflows
• QA/UAT testing documentation
• Incident response and troubleshooting documentation
• Internal engineering and operational standards
• Knowledge base systems and documentation governance

You will also help establish long-term documentation standards, organization structures, and scalable internal knowledge systems across engineering and operations.

Experience with the following tools is strongly preferred:

• Git/GitHub/GitLab
• Markdown
• Swagger/OpenAPI
• Postman
• Jira
• Confluence or Notion
• Lucidchart, Draw.io, or Miro
• Documentation and diagramming platforms

Preferred Background

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Fintech or embedded payments
• POS systems
• Retail or restaurant technology
• Warehouse and inventory systems
• ISO/channel ecosystems
• PCI or compliance-heavy environments
• Enterprise SaaS platforms
• Hardware-integrated software systems

Experience documenting payment processors, gateways, multi-tenant platforms, or enterprise integrations is highly valuable.

This role is critical to helping EkiKart scale as an enterprise-grade commerce and payments platform.

Candidates without strong technical depth or engineering-facing documentation experience will not be considered.

₦1,200,000.00 per month
