About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Teradata Engineer with deep expertise in Teradata SQL, BTEQ, and ETL utilities (FastLoad, MultiLoad) to lead and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in legacy refactoring, performance tuning, schema migration, and driving cloud migration initiatives (preferably to GCP).This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities to modernize legacy systems and deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions.

Role and responsibilities • Design, develop, and optimize Teradata-based data warehouse solutions • Lead development of complex Teradata SQL queries, stored procedures, and macros • Architect and manage ETL processes using BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad (MLoad), and TPump • Drive performance tuning and optimization (query plans, indexing, partitioning, workload management) • Define and execute schema migration strategies for large-scale data transformation • Drive Teradata to cloud migration programs (preferably GCP – BigQuery) • Ensure data quality, reconciliation, and validation frameworks • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and performance bottlenecks • Collaborate with data architects, business teams, and cross-functional stakeholders • Implement best practices for code standardization, version control, and deployment • Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence within the team

Technical skills requirements

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in, • Strong expertise in Teradata SQL (advanced querying, optimization, window functions) • Extensive experience with BTEQ scripting • Hands-on expertise in Teradata utilities - FastLoad, MultiLoad (MLoad), and TPump • Strong experience in ETL/ELT pipeline design and optimization • Proven expertise in performance tuning and workload optimization • Experience in schema migration and data model transformation • Strong understanding of data warehousing architecture and best practices

Nice-to-have skills • Exposure to cloud platforms (GCP preferred – BigQuery, Cloud Storage) • Knowledge in Linux scripting, Python • Experience with AI-native engineering tools (code assistants, query optimization tools)
