Headway Group is leading the search for a senior Total Rewards leader within a sophisticated financial services organization based in the Greater Toronto Area. Reporting to the CHRO, this is the most senior Total Rewards role, carrying enterprise-wide responsibility for compensation, incentives, benefits, retirement programs and payroll. It is a broad and visible leadership mandate, combining strategic influence with operational oversight in a complex, highly professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Total Rewards function across compensation, incentives, benefits, retirement programs and payroll ensuring programs are effective, well managed and aligned with organizational priorities
  • Strengthen governance, market benchmarking and rewards analytics
  • Support senior leadership in compensation and rewards-related decision-making
  • Advance a Total Rewards operating model that leverages technology enablement and automation
  • Lead and develop an established team
  • Contribute both strategically and operationally to the continued evolution of the function

Candidate Profile

  • Progressive senior-level Total Rewards experience
  • Strong depth in compensation, including incentive design and executive compensation
  • Exposure to benefits, retirement programs and payroll oversight
  • Experience in financial services or another complex, regulated environment
  • Ideally, experience leading or implementing process improvements that enhanced effectiveness and execution
  • Strong judgment, analytical capability and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfort with technology enablement, automation and process improvement in support of a modern Total Rewards function
  • Ability to build trust and operate effectively with senior stakeholders
