About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Tunnel / Structural Engineer to lead design delivery for tunnelling projects, including structural support systems and permanent lining.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and analysis of tunnels, shafts, caverns, and underground structures
• Deliver designs using TBM, NATM/SEM, and Cut‑and‑Cover construction methods
• Develop, verify, and review design calculations, models, and technical outputs
• Prepare and review complex technical reports and design documentation
• Ensure designs meet client requirements, technical standards, and HSEQ requirements
• Coordinate with geotechnical, structural, and multidisciplinary teams
• Support drawing production and ensure compliance with SJ procedures
• Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities to improve design outcomes
• Contribute to proposals, tenders, and business development activities
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 6‑10 years of experience in tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in tunnel design, including lining and support systems
• Experience with TBM, NATM/SEM, and/or Cut‑and‑Cover methods
• Familiarity with relevant international standards and specifications
• Experience with design and analysis tools (e.g., PLAXIS, MIDAS, or similar)
• Strong technical reporting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team delivery
