By joining Thales, you join the UX-UI Design discipline and the Thales DATX product team, to contribute to a large-scale project, at the heart of the digital transformation of our industrial tools.

About the product and the team:

Within the Thales Group and the CIDS Tribe (Component Intelligent Digital Solution), you will take part in a strategic project for the complete redesign of the component repository system used in the definition and development of Thales products.

The Product team designs and evolves a strategic data platform used by expert business profiles (engineers, analysts, technical and operational teams). The environment is international (France + teams abroad) and structured into multidisciplinary agile teams. The context is rich in challenges: complex workflows, consistency issues, strong collaboration between Product, Tech, and Design.

As a Senior UI Designer, your mission will be to design an ergonomic, modern, and scalable user interface, serving a centralized industrial catalog. This catalog brings together detailed technical, regulatory, and compliance data, used daily by thousands of internal and external users.

You will work in tandem with an UX Designer (responsible for UXR + wireframes) and collaborate daily with POs, CPOs, developers, and architects. Your role will be essential in transforming access to complex information into a fluid, intuitive, and engaging experience, meeting the requirements of a demanding technical environment and accessibility standards.

The UX-UI Design discipline brings together passionate designers with diverse backgrounds (product, service, research, visual, design ops...). We work at the heart of delivery teams to design coherent, accessible, and useful experiences that create value for both users and clients.

Your profile:

• You are a Senior UI Designer with at least 8 years of experience, a significant portion of which has been on complex digital products or those with high technical stakes (business platforms, data environments, cloud, internal tools, etc.).
• You have worked within various structures and teams, on different types and sizes of projects.
• You have a strong ability to produce clear, coherent, and high-quality interfaces, even in complex technical environments, and to provide meaning by structuring screens and graphic components into a coherent and aesthetic whole.
• Excellent command of UI fundamentals (typography, composition, visual hierarchy, interactions, and micro-interactions), as well as principles of ergonomics, accessibility, and attractiveness.
• Meticulous and creative, you are detail-oriented while maintaining a global product vision.
• You enjoy structuring, rationalizing, and documenting to make design reusable, scalable, and easily shareable within the team.
• You know how to collaborate closely with developers thanks to your good understanding of technical logic and constraints.
• You have a natural leadership posture, capable of positively influencing, engaging teams, and defending your design choices with reasoned arguments.
• Excellent command of UI fundamentals (typography, composition, visual hierarchy, interactions, and micro-interactions), as well as principles of ergonomics, accessibility, and attractiveness.
• Excellent command of Figma and design based on a Design System, including experience contributing to its evolution (creating components, guidelines, documentation…).
• Knowledge or experience in user research (interviews, analyses, syntheses).
• Specific experience with data-centric products and advanced data models is a plus.
• Mastery of the user-centered approach, applied through a verification/validation loop integrated into the product cycle (tests, iterations, adjustments).
• Comfortable in an agile/lean context, within cross-functional teams.
• French and English C1 level (oral and written).

Your missions:

• Transform complex business needs, expressed through journey maps, workflows, and wireframes, into simple, effective, and coherent visual solutions.
• Design high-quality UI interfaces: mockups, prototypes, specifications, and support their implementation up to final integration.
• Actively contribute to the evolution of the Design System (components, documentation, guidelines) and ensure its proper use in products.
• Ensure that the user interface is accessible and complies with standards and best practices (accessibility, readability, usage).
• Conduct or co-conduct user interface tests, verify hypotheses, analyze results, and propose improvements.
• Lead and co-lead workshops (ideation, co-design, reviews/design critiques) and product alignment sessions with stakeholders.
• Support product development and monitor the integration of design recommendations through close collaboration with development teams (handoff, feasibility, technical constraints).
• Implement and nurture a continuous measurement-validation loop to confirm solutions against actual user behaviors and refine design choices.
• Effectively communicate design decisions, recommendations, and their justification to stakeholders (PO, CPO, Tech Lead, team members).
• Participate in the definition and prioritization of features and their translation into the backlog.
• Contribute to the UX strategy and design vision of the products.
• Contribute to the dissemination of Design culture within the organization.
• Actively monitor design methods, trends, and tools (UI, Design System, prototyping, collaboration…), and propose continuous improvements to the workflow and design stack.
