Our client is seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior UI/UX Designer to join their innovative team in Washington, D.C. This role is central to creating intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user interfaces and experiences for our digital products. You will be responsible for the entire design process, from user research and wireframing to prototyping and final visual design, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable user journey. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user-centered design principles, a keen eye for aesthetics, and a deep understanding of modern design tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, user persona development, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Create wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts.
• Develop high-fidelity visual designs, including mockups, style guides, and component libraries.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into compelling user experiences.
• Iterate on designs based on user feedback, data analysis, and technical constraints.
• Champion user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, technologies, and design patterns.
• Present design concepts and rationale clearly and persuasively to various audiences.
• Ensure design consistency and quality across all digital platforms.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to the team's overall design strategy.
• Optimize designs for various devices and screen sizes, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5-7 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with a proven track record of designing successful digital products.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research, interaction design, and visual design for web and mobile applications.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
• Solid understanding of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they impact design implementation.
• Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG guidelines).
