Senior Web Developer (PHP / Laravel)

We’re partnering with a leading global entertainment business to find an experienced Senior Web Developer with deep expertise in PHP and Laravel. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-traffic, consumer-facing platforms used by audiences worldwide.

The Role

As a Senior Developer, you’ll own the full development lifecycle, from technical design and documentation to implementation and regular production releases. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences and help shape technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise scalable, secure, and highly available web applications using PHP (Laravel preferred)
• Full-stack development across LAMP environments
• Work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build responsive front-end experiences
• Implement and maintain SOAP and REST APIs
• Manage source code with Git, ideally GitHub
• Ensure reliability through Test Driven Development (TDD) using PHPUnit, automated testing, and clean code practices
• Use Docker for containerised development environments
• Collaborate with teams using Agile/Kanban methodologies and Jira
• Mentor junior developers, participate in code reviews, and uphold best practices
• Be organised, diligent, and maintain strong time management and work ethic

Requirements

• 5+ years’ commercial experience in PHP using any major framework, ideally Laravel
• Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and full-stack web development
• Proven experience developing scalable, secure, and highly available systems
• Experience with API development (SOAP and REST)
• Solid understanding of LAMP stack and modern development workflows
• Comfortable working in hybrid and collaborative environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
