Senior/Staff Software Engineer

About Us

We are a growing KYC orchestration company replacing manual verification with automated, AI-driven workflows at scale. Our team of eight engineers is senior-level with no juniors, and we are scaling from thousands to half a million verifications per month. We offer a remote setup within approximately one hour of the France timezone, with quarterly visits to Paris. The compensation ranges from €70k–€120k plus equity through BSPC with a low strike price and not underwater. This is an opportunity to build infrastructure for financial compliance that handles hard edge cases and solves a genuinely complex problem.

What We're Looking For

• We are looking for a Senior or Staff Software Engineer.
• We need strong backend instincts and experience with async systems.
• We need someone comfortable owning a feature from zero and taking end-to-end responsibility.
• For Senior-level candidates, French is a plus.
• For Staff-level candidates, French is required.
• We expect experience scaling systems and the ability to explain the reasoning behind technical decisions.
• We value the ability to teach others and set the bar for a small team.
• We work with Python, TypeScript, React, Postgres, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• We want someone who is comfortable working remotely within approximately one hour of the France timezone.
• We require the ability to work in English.
• We prefer candidates who are comfortable using AI development tooling.

Responsibilities

• We build async, event-driven systems that handle document analysis and people screening at volume.
• We work across the stack from database to UI.
• We own features end-to-end.
• We ship autonomously without handholding or waiting for detailed specs.
• We help automate KYC workflows and reduce manual verification.
• We contribute to backend systems and scalable orchestration infrastructure.
• We collaborate with a senior team of engineers on a growing product.
• We use AI development tools as part of our day-to-day work.
