Service Sales Engineer Benelux
Hays
About the role
Your New Role
As a Service Sales Engineer Benelux, you are responsible for the commercial development of service and after-sales activities within your region. You focus on expanding and optimally utilizing the existing installed base and selling service solutions that contribute to continuity, reliability, and minimal downtime for industrial customers.
The focus is explicitly on sales: you are continuously in conversation with customers about maintenance contracts, service interventions, spare parts, and optimizations. You operate as a sparring partner for technical and operational stakeholders and understand the impact of downtime on production processes. Although in-depth product knowledge is not required, you have sufficient technical insight to advise credibly and position solutions.
In this role, you are responsible for expanding service revenue within South Netherlands and North Belgium. You maintain intensive contact with existing customers and develop commercial opportunities within the installed base by selling service contracts, maintenance solutions, and spare parts. You will discuss themes such as uptime, downtime reduction, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
You analyze customer processes, make calculations, and translate technical and operational issues into commercial solutions. You work according to the principle of solution selling and understand how service and maintenance contribute to the continuity of industrial operations. Internally, you liaise with service and technical teams to correctly translate customer requests and meet agreements.
The role is regionally broad: you will be traveling extensively within the Benelux and occasionally be willing to stay overnight.
Your Profile
You have experience in technical sales within an industrial environment and feel comfortable in a commercial role with a lot of customer contact. A background in technical wholesale, industrial services, or aftermarket sales is a good fit. You possess basic mechanical knowledge and have experience with spare parts, service, or maintenance solutions.
You understand industrial processes and can discuss operational impact, maintenance, and performance. You are commercially driven, independent, and a strong communicator. It is important that you can make calculations and work in a structured manner, without needing to be a deep product specialist.
