About the role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Engineer specializing in Civil Construction to join their project team in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, NG . This role requires a professional who can effectively manage and oversee construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. This position involves a hybrid work model, balancing on-site supervision with office-based planning and reporting.
Responsibilities: Supervise and manage all civil engineering aspects of construction projects on-site. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure accuracy and quality of work. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Prepare and manage daily and weekly work plans, including resource allocation and scheduling. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions. Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets specifications. Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports, progress logs, and material usage. Manage site safety programs and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. Liaise with the project manager and design team to resolve technical queries and site challenges. Oversee the use of construction equipment and machinery. Ensure efficient use of materials and minimize waste. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional registration is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction site supervision. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. Experience with project management software is a plus. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Must be willing to work on a hybrid schedule, involving significant time on the construction site in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti, NG . Knowledge of local building practices and regulations in Nigeria is advantageous.
