Our client is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to provide remote oversight and technical support for construction projects. This role is essential for ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with design specifications and building codes, all managed from a remote location. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project plans, coordinating with on-site teams, monitoring progress, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring quality control. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap between project design and on-the-ground execution, leveraging technology to maintain a strong presence and provide expert guidance. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in civil engineering or construction management, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities: Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and compliance. Providing remote technical guidance and support to on-site construction teams, foremen, and subcontractors. Monitoring project progress against the schedule and budget, identifying potential delays or issues. Troubleshooting technical challenges that arise during the construction process. Ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and building codes. Coordinating with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve design or site-related issues. Conducting remote site inspections and assessments through video conferencing and drone technology where applicable. Managing project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and site records. Assisting with the preparation of project reports and close-out documentation. Facilitating communication between the project team and off-site engineering resources. Implementing and overseeing site safety protocols and ensuring compliance. Approving necessary site changes or adjustments to plans as required. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site supervision or project engineering. Experience with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and a strong understanding of construction methodologies are essential. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are required. As this is a remote role, exceptional organizational skills, self-discipline, and the ability to manage time effectively are paramount. You must be proficient in using communication and collaboration tools to maintain a strong virtual presence and provide effective support to projects in the Upington, Northern Cape, ZA area.
