Job Summary
The Site Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end operational leadership of polymeric sand manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production. This role drives operational excellence through Lean Six Sigma methodologies, rigorous KPI management, disciplined maintenance systems, and strong financial acumen. The Site Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize plant performance, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Job Location
This is an onsite position at our Aberdeen, NC plant.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and inventory control.
- Deliver production output aligned with demand forecasts and service‑level expectations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Responsible for ensuring excellence through the 5 plant fundamentals of safety, housekeeping, preventive maintenance, productivity, and quality.
- Champion a Lean Six Sigma culture across the site (e.g., DMAIC, Kaizen, root cause analysis [RCA]).
- Identify and execute waste reduction initiatives across production, material flow, and labor utilization.
- Lead value stream mapping and process optimization efforts specific to blending, drying, and packaging operations.
- Develop internal capability through training and mentoring on CI tools.
- Establish and manage a robust KPI framework.
- Drive daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly performance reviews with clear accountability.
- Implement visual management systems and tiered accountability meetings.
- Implement and sustain a preventative and predictive maintenance program for critical assets (dryer, mixer(s), conveyors, packaging lines, etc.).
- Drive reliability‑centered maintenance (RCM) and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Partner with maintenance teams to establish spare parts strategies and asset lifecycle planning.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems for work order management, tracking, and analysis.
- Lead plant‑wide 5S deployment to ensure workplace organization, safety, and efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits and enforce standards for sustainment.
- Integrate 5S into daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and execute capital expenditure projects (capacity expansion, automation, process improvements).
- Apply structured project management methodologies (scope, schedule, budget, risk).
- Coordinate cross‑functional resources and external contractors.
- Ensure projects deliver ROI and operational benefits.
- Own the site P&L performance, including labor, materials, energy, and maintenance costs.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets and forecasts.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives, including energy efficiency and yield improvement.
- Analyze variances and implement corrective actions to improve margins.
- Lead, coach, and develop a cross‑functional team including supervisors and frontline employees.
- Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support workforce planning, succession development, and training programs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Management or equivalent experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Industry experience in Aggregates, construction materials, or chemical/blending environments preferred.
- Lean manufacturing implementation.
- KPI‑driven performance management.
- Maintenance and reliability systems.
- Cost reduction and margin improvement.
- Bulk material handling and processing systems is a plus.
- Drying and blending operations is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP and CMMS systems.
