Site Manager (Production Operations Lead)

Position Summary:

Lead all production operations at the Paris manufacturing site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality targets are met. As the site head, oversee production, administration, and compliance, while serving as the primary liaison with local government, regulatory authorities, and the community to maintain strong public and governmental relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Operations Management

• Develop and execute production plans to meet delivery, cost, and quality targets for cosmetics and packaging products.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead the production team, including performance management and talent development.

Administration & Compliance

• Oversee site administration, including facility management, security, and logistics.
• Fire Safety & Audit: Maintain expert knowledge of French and EU fire safety regulations; review and validate fire protection systems, emergency plans, and compliance documentation (execution may be delegated to specialists).
• Ensure full compliance with French labor laws, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.

External Relations & Government Affairs

• Act as the official site representative with local authorities (city hall, fire department, economic development agencies, etc.).
• Manage government inspections, permit applications, and public relations matters to safeguard the site’s operational license and community reputation.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations management, preferably in cosmetics, packaging, or fast-moving consumer goods.
• Strong knowledge of French and EU fire safety, environmental, and safety regulations; able to independently review and guide fire compliance efforts.
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken), with proven ability to communicate effectively with local authorities and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent external communication, negotiation, and crisis management skills; experienced in building and maintaining government relationships.
