About the Role
The Snowflake Center of Excellence (CoE) is focused on building, developing, and delivering holistic data solutions leveraging Snowflake and its evolving data platform. Snowflake’s product roadmap has expanded to meet a wider range of customer needs and is a major player in the data ecosystem that is well-positioned for continued growth and strategic alignment with our work.
What You’ll Do
The Snowflake CoE is comprised of passionate technologists committed to refining and mastering their craft. As an Architect for the Snowflake CoE you will be expected to:
- Lead a small to medium size agile program pod to deliver cutting-edge solutions utilizing the Snowflake ecosystem and adjacent technologies to deliver holistic solutions.
- Comfortable leading development on at least one of the main cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
- Maintain “active” status of a Snowflake SnowPro Core certification and one advanced Snowflake certification of your choice.
- Work as the Solution Architect of a delivery pod with a Delivery Owner to design complex delivery patterns, implement solutions, and build components of our clients’ data platform solutions.
- Lead a delivery pod in Agile ceremonies and design sessions, break down complex development tasks, take responsibility for the timely completion of your pods assigned development items in the backlog.
- Contribute to the Snowflake CoE, the internal capability growth, and partnership initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with other Slalom data leaders to drive sales, recruiting, account management, consulting, and operational excellence across the capability
- Act as a Snowflake SME, supporting business development efforts and guiding clients through best practices in architecture, core data engineering, and scalable analytics
- Be a mentor and thought leader, regularly recommending emerging technologies and tools that align with client goals and future-state data strategies
- Bring a business-first lens to every conversation, driving impactful, tech-enabled outcomes that elevate our clients’ competitive edge

What You’ll Bring
As an Architect in the Snowflake CoE capability, you will bring a curious mindset to your client’s engagement, a thirst for knowledge, and a hunger for fearless experimentation in new and interesting ways to meet our clients’ most pressing data challenges. You will have an insatiable need to become the best at what you do and will have opportunities to gain hands-on experience with new tools, features, and platforms as you explore the range of technologies that we help our clients with.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data solutions using Snowflake, while collaborating with team members to leverage its capabilities.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of learning and innovation, while driving best practices in data management and performance optimization.
- Engage with clients to understand their business challenges and deliver solutions that align with their goals, utilizing Snowflakes capabilities to enhance outcomes.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of data engineering experience with at least 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake delivery and or development experience.
- Expertise in hands on development with Cloud Data Warehouses (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery)
- Advanced Object-Oriented Programing skills (Java, Python)
- Experience with NoSQL Databases (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB)
- Experience with Container Management Systems (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS)
- Experience with Big Data Tools/Frameworks: Spark, Hadoop, Presto, Amazon EMR.
- Advanced SQL experience
- Hands on experience developing data pipelines: batch and or streaming.
- Experience with data modeling
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (Amazon Sagemaker, Azure ML Studio)
- Experience with Streaming Data Ingestion (Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka)
- Experience with Semantic Modeling or Visual Analytics (Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience with Modern Data Workflows & Orchestration (Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster).
Work Location
Hybrid/In office: We are hybrid but there are expectations that if your team leader requires you onsite that you are able to meet those expectations/requirements
Compensation
Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the expected base salary pay range is $100,000 to $150,000. In addition, there is potential for a 10% discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will depend upon individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
