Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms and advanced analytics solutions. This role requires deep expertise in modern cloud data ecosystems, including Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, AWS, and Python, along with hands-on experience in machine learning infrastructure such as Feature Stores and Snowflake Cortex.
You will play a key role in shaping the organization's data strategy, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
What you will do:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures using Snowflake and Databricks
- Develop and manage ELT/ETL workflows using dbt, ensuring modular, testable, and well-documented transformations
- Develop and maintain cloud-native data pipelines on AWS (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, EMR)
- Architect and optimize data models for analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases
- Build and manage data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows
- Leverage Python for data engineering, automation, and advanced data processing
- Implement and manage Feature Store solutions for ML lifecycle management
- Utilize Snowflake Cortex for AI/ML-powered data applications and advanced analytics
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Establish data governance, data quality, and security best practices
- Optimize performance, cost, and scalability of data platforms
- Mentor and guide data engineers and other team members
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles
- Strong expertise in Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, security)
- Strong hands-on experience with dbt, ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline orchestration
- Experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM, Redshift, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data warehouses and data lake
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex and AI-driven data applications
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, workflows)
- Experience with Dagster (data orchestration and pipeline management)
- Hands-on experience with Feature Stores (e.g., Snowflake Feature Store or similar)
- Knowledge of machine learning workflows and MLOps practices
- Familiarity with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.)
- Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks
- Certifications in AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks

Kapitus Total Rewards Package Includes:
- Competitive Base Salary Range $117,800 to $189,000 of Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant's final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant's geographic location, skills, and experience.
