About the role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Social Program Manager to oversee and implement impactful community initiatives. This role is based in **Ilorin, Kwara, NG**, and requires a strategic thinker with a passion for social development and community engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of various social programs designed to address critical community needs. This position demands strong leadership, project management capabilities, and a deep understanding of social work principles.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage social programs aligned with organizational goals and community needs. Conduct needs assessments to identify priority areas for intervention. Create detailed project plans, including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Oversee program staff and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and performance management. Establish and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, local government agencies, NGOs, and beneficiaries. Monitor program activities, track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure timely delivery of services. Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial accountability. Prepare regular progress reports, evaluations, and impact assessments for senior management and donors. Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grant writing and proposal development. Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns. Ensure programs are implemented ethically, equitably, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. Manage program risks and develop contingency plans. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment. Stay informed about current social issues, trends, and best practices in program management. Promote the organization's mission and values within the community. Facilitate communication and coordination among program partners. Represent the organization at community events and forums. Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements for future initiatives. Contribute to strategic planning and organizational development. Maintain accurate program records and databases. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Development Studies, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably within the non-profit or community development sector. Proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing social programs. Strong understanding of community development principles and practices. Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring. Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in grant writing and fundraising strategies. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of development projects. Familiarity with local context and community dynamics in Kwara State. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. High level of integrity, ethics, and commitment to social justice. Adaptability and resilience in a challenging environment. Experience working with vulnerable populations is a plus. This position is a remote-first role, offering flexibility while requiring strategic oversight of operations in **Ilorin, Kwara, NG**.
