Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience with Java 17 or higher
• 3 to 5 years of experience with Spring Framework 6.x and Spring Boot 3.x
• 3 to 5 years of RESTful API development and backend for front ends
• 1 to 3 years of experience with microservice-oriented architecture and development
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in agile or scrum teams
• 1 to 3 years of experience with Test Driven Development using JUnit
• Prior experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and JFrog
• Experience with both third-party COTS and internally developed applications
• In-depth understanding of reactive architecture principles and microservices design
• Knowledge of decentralized and asynchronous data flows, warehousing best practices, and data security for data movement
• Experience with containerized applications in hybrid cloud or on-premises environments
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams
• Comprehensive understanding of IT security best practices
• Experience analyzing legacy systems, documenting current states, and transitioning processes into modern architectures
• Proven track record in designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions
• Capability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers
• Background in banking or financial services is preferred
• Experience with core banking systems such as deposit systems, debit card processing, ATM, check processing, or client billing is preferred

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term technical vision for products and domains and lead its implementation
• Collaborate with line-of-business and IT teams to design solutions that effectively incorporate software updates
• Partner with Product Owners to shape the technology roadmap, advising on the use or phasing out of in-house and third-party systems
• Act as the primary liaison for software vendors managing assigned business systems and their changes
• Develop and sustain features while enhancing the quality of technical products and services
• Uphold and refine best practices and standards while actively contributing to communities of practice
• Automate processes to create maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions that ensure operational excellence
• Remain informed of technology trends and innovations relevant to our field
• Provide operational support and resolve issues with team products and services
• Mentor and train new or less experienced members of the team
• Design and document comprehensive solution architectures aligned with business goals and requirements
• Confirm that solutions meet performance, scalability, and security benchmarks
• Identify opportunities to foster reuse and collaboration among teams to enhance processes and capabilities
• Serve as a trusted advisor and reliable resource for specific technologies, topics, or domains
