Software Architect .NET / MES

About

For a leading IT service provider with customers in the industrial manufacturing, production, and digital manufacturing environment, we are looking for a Software Architect .NET / MES / IIoT.

In this role, you will design modern software landscapes, connect enterprise architectures with innovative cloud, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 technologies, and successfully implement complex projects.

Your Role

Architecture Focus & Leadership

• You will design scalable software architectures in the .NET environment and be responsible for their implementation.
• You will navigate confidently between classic enterprise architectures (on-prem, client-server, monoliths) and modern cloud-native approaches (microservices, containers, event-driven).

Production & MES/IIoT Context

• You will interpret production requirements and translate them into functional data models and robust IIoT/MES architectures.
• You will advise customers on building modern production software and digital manufacturing systems.

Technology & Strategy Consulting

• You will define architecture and technology standards such as API-First, Cloud-Native, Security by Design, DDD, or DevSecOps.
• You will evaluate new frameworks and tools and actively contribute trends such as AI integration, serverless, observability, or zero-trust security.

Collaboration & Delivery

• You will work closely with product teams, developers, and business departments – from requirements analysis to go-live.
• You will conduct architecture and code reviews, document best practices, and coach teams.

Your Profile

Education & Experience

• Completed degree in (Business) Informatics, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in designing complex software architectures in the .NET environment.
• Experience with production software, IIoT, or MES platforms is a strong plus.

Technology Expertise

• Very good knowledge in: .NET / C#, ideally .NET Core
• Java or Python are advantageous
• Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
• Architecture Patterns, DDD, Event-Driven, API Design
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)

Data & Integration

• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Graph, or Time-Series databases
• Understanding of data models and integration concepts in production environments

Methods & Soft Skills

• Experience with Scrum, SAFe, or DevOps
• Confident presence in workshops and with stakeholders
• Very good German and English skills
