Job Summary

SHI is in search of a dynamic and experienced Software Architect to lead the ongoing development and architecture of our eCommerce platform. This role is ideal for architects who possess extensive hands-on experience in designing, scaling, and optimizing intricate eCommerce systems. You will define the architectural vision, champion technical excellence, mentor engineers, and work collaboratively across departments to ensure our eCommerce platform is robust, scalable, secure, and primed for future innovations.

Role Description

• Architect & Design: Lead the comprehensive architecture for SHI's eCommerce platform, ensuring it is aligned with business aims, scalable, secure, and provides a best-in-class customer experience.
• Technical Leadership: Establish and promote engineering standards, design patterns, and architectural best practices to elevate quality in coding, maintainability, and system resilience.
• eCommerce Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of eCommerce components (shopping cart, payment systems, catalog management, order processing, search, personalization, etc.) to inform system design and modernization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical strategy and deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentorship & Influence: Provide guidance and support to engineers and architects across multiple teams. Facilitate technical discussions and conduct architectural reviews to foster growth in architectural thinking.
• Strategy & Road Mapping: Create and continually refine the architectural roadmap for the eCommerce platform, balancing technical debt, innovation, and feature delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement new patterns, practices, and technologies to enhance platform quality, developer efficiency, and business agility.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain top-quality architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical standards, adjusting communication style for various audiences.
• DevOps & Cloud Native: Guide cloud implementations, CI/CD practices, and observability to ensure a reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective platform. Mentor team members during code and design reviews to uphold company standards.
• Software Design Leadership: Direct the software design process based on requirements from product teams, customers, and stakeholders. Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot software solutions focused on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).

Required Skills and Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in software development.
• 5+ years with DevOps methodologies.
• 5+ years experience with C#, React, JavaScript, SQL.
• Ability to travel 10%.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000, which includes a base salary and bonus. Compensation is based on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and market location, and may vary individually. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
