We are supporting a leading international technology organisation in the search for an experienced Software Automation Engineer to join a highly specialised Software Defined Radio (SDR) engineering environment in Hannover.
This is a technically challenging position within a modern development team focused on automated testing, software verification and continuous quality assurance for complex embedded communication systems.
The role would suit engineers with strong backgrounds in test automation, QA engineering, Linux environments and Python development who enjoy working closely with software developers to improve software reliability, scalability and release quality.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing and implementing automated software verification and validation processes
- Developing and optimising test automation frameworks and tooling
- Building and maintaining Linux-based test environments, mocks and test drivers
- Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and agile workflows
- Working closely with developers to implement shift-left testing methodologies
- Analysing test results, identifying root causes and improving test coverage
- Contributing to continuous improvement across QA, automation and engineering processes
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar technical discipline
- Strong experience within software QA, automation engineering or complex software systems
- Hands-on experience with Python and modern automation frameworks
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test environments
- Strong Linux knowledge including scripting and command-line tooling
- Experience working within agile development environments
- Business fluent German (C1) and good English skills are mandatory
- EU or NATO nationality required due to project restrictions
- No junior or entry-level profiles can be considered
Contract Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 18 months with extension potential up to 24 months
- Working Hours: 40h/week
- Hybrid model with up to 60% home office
