The Role

We are looking for a Software Developer with early-career experience who is passionate about building high-quality backend systems, data workflows, and cloud-native applications. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work on multiple projects, contribute to modern architectures, and learn rapidly across backend, data, and cloud technologies.

As part of BeeHyv’s engineering team, you will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and client stakeholders to deliver robust solutions. You will be encouraged to explore new technologies, follow engineering best practices, and grow into a well-rounded engineer with strong backend and data fundamentals.

This role offers exposure to both modernization of existing systems and development of new applications, so adaptability and willingness to learn are essential.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend applications and data-driven systems
• Build backend services, APIs, scripts, and data pipelines using Python
• Work with relational databases and design efficient data models
• Develop and maintain data workflows and integrations across systems
• Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to build scalable solutions
• Collaborate within a team environment to deliver high-quality features on time
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization
• Follow Agile processes, engineering best practices, and DevOps principles
• Use Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines for development
• Learn and adopt new technologies as project needs evolve
• Contribute to documentation, testing, and automation
• Work on one or more projects simultaneously and manage your deliverables independently

What We’re Looking For

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 2+ years of experience building backend systems, data workflows, or applications
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and problem solving
• Hands-on experience with Python for backend development or scripting
• Strong understanding of SQL, joins, and basic query optimization
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and structured data design
• Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Passionate about learning new technologies and improving code quality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with Git, Jira, or CI/CD tools is a plus Exposure to frontend technologies (JavaScript/React) is a plus Exposure to data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake is a plus Familiarity with tools like Airflow, dbt, or similar is a plus Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is a plus Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Sigma is a plus Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar is a plus Experience with PySpark or distributed data processing is a plus
