Software Development Internship - Reply Functionaliteit

What are you going to do?

Within Ons Ketenverkeer, we help healthcare organizations collaborate digitally in a simple and secure way. While we already receive FHIR messages from external parties, one important step is still missing: the ability to respond directly within our own environment. During this internship, you will explore and design a reply functionality that allows users to accept or reject requests without switching to external systems. You'll work on a solution that customers have been asking for for quite some time.

Your responsibilities

Process understanding

• map out the end-to-end process, including interaction with ZorgDomein.

Interface design

• define how the integration with external systems should work.

UX design:

• collaborate with UX specialists to design intuitive user interactions.

Technical design:

• translate your findings into a concrete technical proposal.

Proof of concept

• optionally develop a test implementation to validate your design.

Your team

You will join a team working on Ons Ketenverkeer, the solution that enables healthcare organizations to collaborate digitally in a safe and scalable way. Within this team, we combine backend, frontend, and integrations with external systems.

During your internship, you will work closely with a front-end developer and a back-end developer who will guide you in making decisions and shaping your solution. You will get hands-on experience with our Glue framework (Spring and Kotlin) and our frontend built with Vue 3 and Pinia. This gives you insight into the full application landscape-from UX and API flows to integrations with third parties.

Required skills

You are curious and enjoy exploring complex challenges and turning them into workable solutions. In addition:

• You are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• You are interested in system integrations, APIs, and messaging standards such as FHIR.
• You communicate easily with developers and other stakeholders.
• You are not afraid to ask questions and challenge assumptions.
• Experience with Kotlin, Spring, Vue 3, or Pinia is a plus, not a requirement.
