About the role

About Etanox

Etanox is a Swiss aerospace start-up developing compact, high-performance chemical propulsion systems for small satellites and deep-space missions. Our unique green propellant blend enables a new class of reliable and high-thrust reaction control and main propulsion systems designed for simplicity, performance, and scalability.

We are a small and passionate team of engineers and entrepreneurs with backgrounds in rocket propulsion, system engineering, and spacecraft design. Together, we are building the next generation of European satellite propulsion technology.

Your Profile

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled candidate with experience in software development and connected systems. You should have solid programming knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, C/C++, and Python, as well as practical experience with Git for version control and collaborative development.

A good understanding of embedded systems is essential, together with knowledge of Ethernet-based communication and common network protocols. Experience in data processing and server communication is also important, as the role involves working with systems that connect software, hardware, and network infrastructure.

You are comfortable analyzing technical challenges, developing structured solutions, and working independently as well as within a team. A reliable, detail-oriented, and solution-focused way of working will help you succeed in this position.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to the development and improvement of software and system solutions in a technically demanding environment. Your tasks may include programming and maintaining applications, supporting embedded systems development, implementing communication between devices and servers, and processing and analyzing technical data.

You will work on projects that combine software, hardware, and connectivity, helping to create efficient, reliable, and scalable solutions. Close collaboration with other team members and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be an important part of your daily work.

What We Offer

  • Direct involvement in the development of real spaceflight hardware
  • Real ownership of projects and technical work packages from concept to testing
  • High level of responsibility and steep learning curve in a fast-growing Swiss space start-up
  • Close collaboration with experienced propulsion engineers and founders
  • Flat hierarchies and rapid decision-making
  • Work-life balance with flexible working hours
  • Office and lab in Lucerne (Technopark Root D4), Switzerland

If you’re excited about building the embedded systems that power and control next-generation satellite propulsion, we’d love to hear from you. 🚀
