'Weighing & Instrument Components' (MTWIC) is a leader in the industrialization and production of laboratory scales and other high-resolution gravimetric instruments, terminals, MFR force sensors, and printed circuit boards for the entire METTLER TOLEDO group. For our MTWIC business unit, we are looking for a dedicated and motivated personality for our location in Nänikon-Greifensee as a Software Engineer C# .NET 100% (all genders).
Your Tasks:
You will play a central role in the conception, development, and maintenance of software solutions for our global manufacturing systems. In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that increase manufacturing efficiency and drive digital transformation. You will also support the local team at the Nänikon site in the design, development, and maintenance of customized software solutions for production.
In this role, you will perform the following activities:
- You will drive the conception, development, and maintenance of MES applications and software solutions for our global manufacturing systems.
- You will design and implement customized software solutions for production at the Nänikon site, primarily using .NET technologies.
- In close cooperation with business analysts, you will translate business requirements into technical solutions and create concepts and architectures.
- You will develop and maintain interfaces between the MES and third-party systems (e.g., SAP) and drive digital transformation.
- You will support the setup of CI/CD pipelines, testing, and quality assurance to ensure the highest code quality.
- You will integrate new technologies such as IIoT protocols and AI tools into existing production software.
- You will plan the rollout of tools in production, conduct employee training, and provide technical support for error messages.
- You will work closely with our sister unit in China to realize innovative solutions for the global optimization of manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
We have the following requirements for this position:
- You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, or a related field.
- You have sound experience in the development of .NET applications (C#, ASP.NET); (at least 3 years of experience is ideal).
- You have a deep understanding of MES, Smart Manufacturing concepts, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
- You have practical experience in the use of AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) – these skills are of central importance to us.
- You are proficient in using relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) and in data integration.
- You have experience with device connectivity, data acquisition, and IIoT technologies.
- You are characterized by very high teamwork skills, a structured, solution-oriented approach, and strong analytical skills.
- Experience in a production environment is a plus.
- Very good German and English skills are required.
