About The Role
Microsoft is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join the Azure Data engineering team, specifically within the OneLake & ISVs team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust data services that support Microsoft’s comprehensive data platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including external partners and vendors, to define user requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high-quality features that enhance partner integrations within the Fabric ecosystem. Your contributions will directly influence the evolution of Microsoft’s unified data stack, enabling organizations to manage, analyze, and leverage data more efficiently at scale.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of data innovation, leveraging modern AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot to streamline development processes. You will play a key role in fostering a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience, with proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft’s security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, scalable architecture, and cloud-based solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Experience with designing services focused on high availability, scalability, robustness, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, reliable, and high-performance data services with a focus on availability and observability.
- Take ownership of the entire service lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and external partners, to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Drive engineering best practices by conducting design reviews, improving code quality, and ensuring operational excellence.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical growth.
- Contribute to the enhancement of engineering standards, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Support strategic initiatives by integrating partner solutions into the Fabric ecosystem, ensuring seamless interoperability.
