As a Staff Engineer at Kin, you'll develop the products and features that power Kin. Working in a Ruby on Rails environment with a Typescript front‑end and Postgre

SQL database, you will tackle complex engineering problems while collaborating with Product, Design, Dev, and other cross‑functional teams. As your team's technical lead, you will mentor peers and guide projects. Responsibilities • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Ruby on Rails and Typescript. • Set standards for the Engineering team by example. • Lead pair programming sessions and mentor team members. • Drive advanced design and architectural tasks. • Develop technical roadmaps. • Participate in daily stand‑ups and weekly retrospectives. • Collaborate with Design, Product Management, and Customer Support to design and implement scalable solutions. • Provide subject‑matter expertise and support. Qualifications • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience. • 4+ years coding with Ruby on Rails and Typescript/JavaScript. • Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases, with exposure to No

SQL. • Experience designing and implementing scalable, API‑first systems. • Experience with event‑driven architectures. • Experience in big data engineering on AWS and/or Databricks (plus). • Ability to articulate value of technical investments. • Ability to operate with little‑to‑no technical guidance. • Experience mentoring engineers. • Comfortable in a fast‑paced, self‑motivated startup environment. • Fast learner, ready to bring prior knowledge and continue developing. • Location in Central or Eastern US time zones (CDT & EDT) strongly preferred. • Unable to sponsor employment visas.
