We are looking for YOU as Software Engineer (f/m/d) in the department of Product Engineering.

YOUR TASKS

As a Software Engineer (f/m/d) with a focus on fullstack development, you support vent.io in building modern web applications, mobile apps and portals as digital products—based on a cutting-edge cloud infrastructure.

• You contribute end-to-end to vent.io’s digital products—building user-facing features and supporting backend services where needed.
• You collaborate with cross-functional product teams to design, implement, and iterate on modern web applications—across frontend, APIs, and supporting services.
• You help shape and implement reliable interfaces between frontend and backend (e.g., REST APIs), ensuring smooth integration and a great user experience.
• You take ownership of the applications you develop—from initial concept through to production and operation—with a DevOps mindset.
• You ensure quality by writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that is testable and observable in production.
• You bring an architectural mindset, thinking beyond implementation to how components fit together, scale, and evolve over time.

YOUR SKILLS

• You hold a graduate degree in computer science, engineering, informatics, or another quantitative field, and you have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.g., data structures and algorithms).
• You have strong skills in TypeScript/JavaScript and React (ideally with Next.js and/or React Router) and you build responsive, maintainable UIs with clean CSS.
• You are comfortable working fullstack: you understand and design REST APIs and contribute to backend services—ideally with Java and Spring Boot—to build reliable interfaces between systems.
• You have hands-on experience with databases, including SQL and ideally NoSQL, and you consider data modeling and performance in your solutions.
• You are interested in cloud-native development, especially on Microsoft Azure, and ideally bring first experience with technologies such as Docker/containerization and OpenTelemetry.
• You have an interest in SRE/DevOps practices (observability, reliability, automation) and enjoy collaborating with platform/SRE teams to run software responsibly in production.
• You combine traditional software architecture with modern, AI-driven systems and have no hesitation working close to infrastructure, understanding the implications of platform, runtime, and operational concerns.
• You understand your way around public clouds. You know the pros and cons of running software on abstract managed environments. You know the concept of Infrastructure as Code and how to securely implement software end-to-end.

• You have strong communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with highly skilled engineers, scientists, designers, and product owners across disciplines.
• You speak English fluently and ideally have basic conversations skills in German.
