The platform combines product and web analytics, session replay, experimentation, feature flags, and metric trees.

About the Team

The Growth Engineering team is responsible for increasing user activation and driving self‑serve revenue. The Top of Funnel Pod specifically targets user acquisition and activation, delivering projects such as:

  • AI‑powered template event suggestions
  • Improving discoverability of templates

About the Role

As a Software Engineer on the Growth team, you will build and optimize experiences that drive user acquisition, activation, and conversion. A key focus is web experimentation—designing, implementing, and analyzing A/B tests across the marketing site and product onboarding flows to improve growth metrics. You will work across the full stack, from frontend UI changes to backend data pipelines, and collaborate with Product and Design to turn experiment insights into product improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop experiments across Mixpanel’s product and onboarding flows to optimize acquisition and activation metrics
  • Partner with Product and Design to identify high‑impact experiment hypotheses grounded in data and user research
  • Instrument tracking and build dashboards (in Mixpanel) to measure experiment outcomes and inform iteration
  • Build and improve onboarding experiences that drive down time to value for new Mixpanel users
  • Participate in team on‑call rotation to improve system health

We're Looking For Someone Who Has

  • At least 2 years of full‑stack software engineering experience
  • Excellent debugging and technical investigation skills
  • Strong technical communication, ideally with experience collaborating in an asynchronous remote environment
  • Ability to move fast and iterate—ownership of problems and focus on delivering value to users
  • A data‑driven mindset

Bonus Points For

  • Interest in leveraging AI/GenAI to accelerate experimentation workflows
  • Prior experience on a growth engineering team or in a growth‑focused role
  • React / TypeScript experience
  • Django / Python experience
  • Experience with experimentation platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Statsig, or similar)

Compensation

Total target cash compensation (TTCC) ranges from $193,500 – $236,500 USD, including base salary and variable compensation (company bonus or commissions). The role is also eligible for equity and benefits such as medical, vision, and dental insurance.

Benefits and Perks

  • Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental care
  • Mental wellness benefit
  • Generous vacation policy & additional company holidays
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Volunteer time off
  • Pre‑tax benefits including 401(k), wellness benefit, holiday break

Benefits and perks for contract positions may vary.
