SDET – Python Automation | Retail | MDM | Microservices

About

We are looking for a highly skilled SDET to join our Master Data Management (MDM) platform team. This role focuses on building scalable test automation frameworks, validating high-volume retail data pipelines, and ensuring quality across modern microservices architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Python-based automation frameworks (pytest preferred)
• Develop data validation frameworks for MDM pipelines (Great Expectations)
• Perform API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
• Validate master data domains: Product, Customer, Vendor, Location
• Test Java microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven systems
• Execute performance and scalability testing for large-scale retail data
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to drive quality across SDLC

Must Have

• 5+ years in SDET / Test Automation
• 3+ years in Retail domain
• 3+ years of Python automation experience (strong in pytest)
• Hands-on experience with Great Expectations (data validation)
• Experience testing Java microservices (REST APIs, event-driven systems)
• Strong understanding of MDM concepts, data quality, and governance
• Experience with MDM platforms (Informatica MDM, Reltio, Stibo, etc.)
• Solid experience in API testing (Postman, REST Assured, or Python libraries)
• Familiarity with Kafka or event-driven architectures
• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust, Gatling)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Proficiency in Git version control
• Experience validating data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, sync)

Nice to Have

• Experience with BDD frameworks (Behave, pytest-bdd)
• Familiarity with Spring Boot
• Exposure to monitoring tools (Grafana, Datadog, Splunk)
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of data integration tools (Informatica, Talend, NiFi)
• Experience with GraphQL API testing
• Exposure to contract testing (Pact)
• Understanding of data mesh / lakehouse architectures
• Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure)
• Experience with Retail MDM implementations (PIM, CDP)
