Software Engineer – Java, Cloud & Microservices (m/w/d)

Our Platform as a Service is used in various projects, including our own National Secure Cloud, in the test environment of our "Competence Center Optics", and in various military projects that not only need to exchange data but also do so with IT security, encryption, and across domain boundaries.

The Defence & Security business unit is particularly committed to the armed forces and is a recognized technical service provider at national and international level for the conception of solutions, the support of analysis, development and realization projects, and the provision of services.

Your Tasks

• Design, development and implementation of services in cloud-based systems with modern Java technologies (Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, JavaFX, React.js) in own responsibility
• Conception and design of structured, scalable APIs based on defined requirements
• Design and implementation of web services (SOAP, REST)
• Further development of tech stacks such as Docker, Kubernetes, Apache CXF, asynchronous messaging, Big Data solutions (e.g. Hadoop)
• Cloud integration, support in the conception and implementation of cloud infrastructures and containerized applications independently
• Analysis of customer requirements in cooperation with our experts and development of optimal solutions for software implementation, for example in our database applications and infrastructure solutions
• Implementation and testing of the developed solutions together with the development team

Your Profile

• Successfully completed studies in computer science or a comparable field and several years of professional experience in software development with Java
• Extensive knowledge in Java (as well as JNI/JNA), JEE, Spring, Hibernate and web technologies (React), experience with container and Big Data technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop)
• Willingness to take responsibility for software architecture, design decisions and own applications
• Very good German and English skills
• Curiosity and motivation to learn new technologies and to work in a multinational environment
