Join our dynamic team as a Software Engineer specializing in Java Development! You will be involved in conceiving, designing, and testing innovative solutions tailored to meet program requirements. Your role will encompass writing programs based on provided specifications, as well as building, deploying, and maintaining websites and applications.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Design and develop Java code for a significant Federal IT Program.
- Offer technical support and maintenance for complex issues related to web technologies.
- Draft functional specifications to guide the development of programs, ensuring quality through coding, debugging, and documentation.
- Manage product requirements from inception to completion, rigorously testing and refining the software to meet desired outcomes.
- Create user interfaces for interactive web applications, ensuring compliance with ADA 508 and cross-browser standards.
- Maintain development standards and conventions to ensure high-quality code.
- Generate required specifications for programs of varying complexity.
- Conduct systems testing, monitor results, and address any non-routine issues that arise.
- Develop unit tests to work alongside testers to resolve program and security findings.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including diagrams and flowcharts, to support software development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in programming or web development.
- Active Final Secret Security Clearance.
Other Job Specific Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Familiarity with J2EE or other Java frameworks (e.g., Spring).
- Proficient using Java development tools (e.g., Eclipse, JUnit, Git).
- 2 years of web development experience (HTML, JSP, etc.).
- Experience in building enterprise applications with Java (2+ years).
- Ability to report to the client site in Annapolis Junction, MD, up to 3 times a week.
- Background in large-scale Federal IT Programs.
- Familiarity with the SAFe Agile delivery framework.
Compensation Ranges
The compensation for this role is competitive and varies based on factors such as location, skill set, education, certifications, and experience, ranging from $92k to $113k.
