Software Engineer – JMS / IBM MQ (Aviation Domain)

Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong JMS and messaging expertise to design and develop mission-critical systems supporting global aviation communication platforms. You will work on high-performance messaging systems handling millions of transactions/messages worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications leveraging JMS and IBM MQ
• Build and optimize high-throughput messaging systems (queues/topics, pub/sub)
• Support modernization efforts including OpenJDK upgrades and refactoring
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in a DevSecOps environment
• Collaborate with architects, technical leads, and cross-functional teams
• Participate in full SDLC lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, and maintenance
• Contribute to scalable, reliable solutions in an aviation systems environment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 4–7 years of experience in software development
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • JMS (message creation, consumption, processing)
  • IBM MQ or equivalent messaging platforms
  • Java enterprise application development
  • Linux operating systems
• Experience with:
  • OSGi framework (bundle development/deployment)
  • Agile development methodologies
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Familiarity with tools/technologies: Maven, Git, OOP concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar messaging systems
• Hands-on Node.js development experience
• Exposure to Aviation or Aerospace domain
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compliance Requirement

This position supports programs that require compliance with U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR).

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $ 79000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $ 121,000 per year

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
