About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support a robust initiative focused on Processing and Analytic Capabilities. This role involves contributing to mission-critical efforts across corporate data ingest and dataflow, data warehouses and analytic platforms, and IC Govcloud outreach and corporate tool development. The primary focus of this position is to enhance a UI prototype originally developed in Streamlit, evolving it into a sophisticated interface for eventual use external to the corporate enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and mature a UI prototype developed using Streamlit into a full-scale interface.
- Develop and maintain software solutions using Python and Java.
- Design and implement user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and the React framework.
- Write and maintain scripts using Bash to support development and operations.
- Navigate and utilize the Linux CLI for development tasks.
- Utilize Git source control for version management and collaborative development.
- Contribute to the development of corporate tools for alerting, notifications, and automated analyst workflows.
Requirements
- Experience: 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE), or 9 years of SWE experience for candidates without a degree.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. 9 years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a degree.
- Technical Skills: Recent development experience in Python and Java; UI development experience with JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- System Skills: Proficiency with Linux CLI, Bash scripting, and Git source control.
- Desired Skills: Familiarity with Apache AirFlow, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira/Confluence).
