Responsibilities

• We are a technical consulting firm, meaning we solve complex IT problems for our clients by conceptually understanding them and then implementing a solution. We are not an agency, meaning we don't do "ticket-pushing" day in and day out – we work analytically and hand-in-hand with the client.
• Technologically, depending on the client, we work in the backend with Java/Kotlin or C# stacks with DevOps on Kubernetes, and on the frontend, we use React, Vue, or Angular.
• As a Software Engineer, you are fully responsible for our clients' success. This means that together with 4-5 other engineers, you analyze our clients' challenges, design pragmatic solutions, and implement them in code.
• We are less concerned with specific technologies and more with finding the right solution for the client – however, we naturally expect a certain dexterity in at least one of the mentioned technologies.

Requirements

• You have initial exposure to at least one of our stacks (Java/Kotlin/C# in the backend, any JS Single Page Framework in the frontend).
• You are open and motivated to deepen your knowledge as well as to learn other stacks.
• Your heart beats for code, but you see yourself as a consultant: You enjoy explaining the value of your technical work understandably to other people.

Team

We are currently a team of 30 people and want to grow further. Together in a team with 4-5 other engineers, you will analyze the clients' challenges.

Application Process

• Pre-Interview: Briefly check if we both have the same understanding of the position and if the framework conditions fit.
• Tech Interview: Conversation / exchange about your previous technical experience – we love technology and enjoy talking about it, want to get to know you as a person, and of course, give you an insight into the world of L21s.
• Case Study Interview: You will be presented with a real problem from our project everyday life, develop a solution for it, and present it to us.

About the Company

We are a technical consulting firm, meaning we solve complex IT problems for our clients.

In addition to developing custom software for our clients, we also offer strategic consulting and operational support through our consulting division, e.g., in project management – always analytically and hand-in-hand with the client.

We are currently a team of 40 people and want to grow further.

As a startup, we offer all the typical benefits (flexible remote options, freely selectable hardware + peripherals, annual learning budget, regular team events...), but we have been profitable and self-financed since day one. We place particular emphasis on learning and development, e.g., through pair programming, regular internal learning events, and up & downward feedback processes.

Our clients come from the insurance, public services, and finance/banking sectors. Even though these sectors sound relatively "classic," we work on innovative topics: Together with a government agency, we built an open data solution for traffic data; with an eHealth Insurtech, we enabled digital data exchange between insurance and doctors; and in the financial sector, we modernized old-school 80s interfaces – to name just a few examples.

We do not do deadline-driven contract work but work as partners as consultants for our clients.
