About

For the "Vehicle Survivability Engineering" department, we are looking for a "Software Developer (m/f/d)" for self-protection systems at the Taufkirchen site as soon as possible.

The "Vehicle Survivability Engineering" department is responsible for the development of self-protection systems for the military land sector. This covers the entire product lifecycle from the bidding phase, through the development of demonstrators and prototypes, series development, as well as series support and necessary adaptation developments. The product range includes sensors, computing units, actuators, auxiliary equipment, as well as the necessary software and firmware modules for operation.

The scope of tasks includes the entire software development cycle from specification through implementation, documentation, integration, testing to maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Specification, design, and development of software for embedded systems
  • Accompanying development from requirements analysis through the creation of software design and programming of software modules
  • Performing hardware/software integration
  • Verification and validation of the created software, creation and execution of test procedures, documentation of results at component and system level
  • Development of PC-based test applications and special measuring instruments
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
  • Participation in software reviews
  • Participation in the formal change management of the project
  • Customer support regarding questions about system functionality
  • Close cooperation with the System Engineering and Algorithm Development departments

Qualifications

  • Completed degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent
  • Professional experience in software development for embedded systems, in hardware-related software development, and possibly in real-time programming
  • Professional experience in requirements analysis and software modeling with UML / model-based software development (e.g., with Rational Rhapsody, Rational Rose)
  • Very good knowledge of C / C++ programming languages
  • Very good knowledge of network communication (TCP/IP), serial interfaces (RS232, RS422, RS485), and bus systems (e.g., MIL-STD-1553, CAN bus)
  • Good knowledge of requirements management software (e.g., Rational DOORS, Requisite Pro)
  • Good knowledge of real-time operating systems (e.g., VxWorks)
  • Good knowledge of configuration management and process models
  • Experience in developing PC programs for test applications (e.g., with LabVIEW, Visual Studio) would be an advantage
  • Analytical and structured way of working
  • Very good communication skills, ability to work in a team, and social competence
  • Fluent English and good German language skills
