About the role
About
The project Multi-Layer Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) focuses on the development, integration, and validation of modern hybrid positioning and time synchronization solutions based on GNSS and 5G technologies. The goal is to realize robust, high-precision PNT functionalities by combining satellite-based navigation with terrestrial and non-terrestrial 5G systems, especially in the context of NTN User Equipment prototypes (NTN UE).
Responsibilities
- Integration and coupling of software modules within complex multi-layer PNT test environments
- Development of interfaces between hardware and software modules in prototypical NTN-UE platforms
- Conducting simulation-based tests to verify functional and performance-related requirements
- Analysis of signal processing and positioning algorithms in the GNSS and 5G context
- Development and maintenance of automated software procedures for laboratory and field test campaigns
- Implementation of real-time operation and monitoring interfaces on embedded and hosted radio platforms
- Planning, preparation, and execution of structured laboratory and field measurement campaigns
- Evaluation and documentation of measurement results regarding accuracy, robustness, and system performance
- Laboratory verification of NTN-UE prototypes according to specified functional and performance requirements
Requirements
- Signal Processing & Navigation
- Sound knowledge in GNSS navigation, multi-sensor fusion, and PNT algorithms
- Programming & Software Development
- Advanced programming skills in Matlab, Python, and C++
- 5G Positioning
- Practical experience with real-time 5G positioning experiments, especially using the OpenAirInterface (OAI) framework
- GNSS Technologies
- Experience with GNSS RTK solutions and extensive use of GNSS measurement and reference systems
- Test and Measurement Technology
- Extensive use of laboratory and field test equipment for GNSS and 5G-based systems
Project Details
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: 3 months (with option for extension)
- Workload: Full-time
- Location: On-site in the Bodensee region (a little remote possible)
