Description
- Bridge strategy and execution by leading delivery of scalable, cloud-based solutions.
- Drive technical excellence while contributing directly to development.
- Collaborate across product, QA, and broader business teams.
- Mentor developers and support continuous improvement in delivery and engineering practices.
Duties
- Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 developers, including contractors.
- Contribute 50–60% hands-on coding within development cycles.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications (cloud-based).
- Participate in architectural decisions, standards, and best practices.
- Drive sprint delivery, planning, and estimation processes.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and optimisation.
- Oversee deployments, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Engage stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
- Minimum 8 years’ software development experience across multiple disciplines.
- At least 2–3 years in a leadership or senior mentorship role.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum / Kanban environments.
- Industry exposure to healthcare or similar complex systems advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong cloud experience (GCP, Firebase/Firestore or similar).
- Solid experience with Angular (v12+) or modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and RESTful API development.
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
- Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and design patterns.
- Ability to apply systems thinking and contribute to end-to-end solutions.
- Exposure to AI-driven development within SDLC advantageous
Remuneration
The salary is open for discussion and will be market related in line with your qualifications, skills and experience. The offer can be up to R120k per month if you are an exact fit and require minimal additional training or oversight.
