About the Role
As a Software Testing Engineer / QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of software products. With 1-3 years of experience in manual testing, you will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
Responsibilities
- Analyzing requirements and preparing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans
- Executing test cases manually and documenting results
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects using bug-tracking tools such as JIRA or Bugzilla
- Performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UI testing
- Collaborating with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure quality
- Reporting test progress, defects, and status updates to the QA lead
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices
- Performing exploratory testing to identify edge cases and unexpected behaviors
- Verifying fixes and conducting re-testing before releases
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of manual testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience with defect tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar
- Ability to create detailed test cases based on requirements
- Basic knowledge of SQL queries for database validation
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC/STLC
- Good communication skills to effectively communicate defects and test results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in mobile application testing
- Basic knowledge of automation testing tools such as Selenium
- Understanding of performance and security testing concepts
Qualifications Required
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- ISTQB Certification (preferred but not mandatory)
