The Role

Peraton is hiring a Software/Data Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Fort Meade, Maryland. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; work is performed at a customer location.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements.
• Document test results.
• Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the environment.
• Provide specific input to the software components of system design including use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) / Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development.
• Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards.
• Confer with users or system engineers to analyze usage and work processes.
• Investigate problem areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 19 years of software engineering experience OR
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 17 years of software engineering experience OR
• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field with 14 years of software engineering experience OR
• High School Diploma or GED with 20 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using Open Stack and other comparable platforms.
• Strong Linux and Python background.
• Understanding of IT management and operations.
• Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, including heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap, and eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan.

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. Salary is determined by various factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, and contract considerations. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
