About the role

About hTRIUS

We are rethinking work at hTRIUS. With the BionicBack, we are developing an exoskeleton that relieves the back exactly where people are physically challenged daily – immediately noticeable, easy to use, and made for real working life.

Our mission: Improve quality of life – through wearable relief.

Our challenge: To create products from strong ideas, functional concepts, and bold development that are thought through to the last detail – technically, functionally, and uncompromisingly high-quality in their implementation. And this is exactly where you come in.

Innovation meets system intelligence – Your role at hTRIUS

You don't just develop individual components – you think in complete systems. If mechanics, electronics, sensor technology, software, and CRA are not separate worlds for you, but a functional overall system, then you are right with us.

At hTRIUS, we develop exoskeletons that intelligently support human movement. To achieve this, we combine high-precision sensor technology, embedded electronics, control technology, and mechanical systems into a product that works in real working life – robust, reliable, and intelligent.

Your opportunity

As a Senior Software Developer, you will take on a central role in the system architecture of our products. You will develop the technical intelligence of our exoskeletons – from sensor technology and embedded software to system integration.

You will work on products that reduce real physical load and directly impact people's health. Put your theoretical, technical, and practical knowledge into practice and immerse yourself in an environment where innovation and passion go hand in hand.

Responsibilities

  • System Development & Architecture: You develop and are responsible for the electrical and mechatronic system architecture of our exoskeletons, including sensor technology, actuator technology, power supply, and control systems.
  • Embedded Systems Engineering: You develop embedded software for microcontroller-based systems (e.g., STM32, ARM Cortex), including real-time processing, sensor fusion, and signal processing.
  • Sensor Integration & Signal Processing: You integrate complex sensor systems (IMU, force, strain, position sensors) and develop algorithms for reliable acquisition and interpretation of movement data.
  • Control Technology & System Behavior: You work on the control of dynamic systems and ensure stable, safe, and ergonomically sensible system behavior.
  • Prototype Development & Testing: You develop, build, and test functional models, prototypes, and pre-series systems in direct interaction with mechanics and software.
  • PCB Design & Electronics Development: You are responsible for or support the design of printed circuit boards, circuits, and electrical assemblies, including validation and testing.
  • System Integration: You ensure that electronics, mechanics, and software merge into a functioning overall system – from the idea to series production.
  • Technical Responsibility: You take responsibility for technical decisions, validation, error analysis, and the continuous further development of the systems.

Profile

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, embedded systems, or comparable system development.
  • Completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, automation technology, or comparable.
  • Very deep experience in embedded systems (e.g., STM32, ARM, real-time operating systems, bare metal or RTOS).
  • Very good knowledge of C/C++ for microcontroller programming.
  • Sound understanding of signal processing, data preparation, and system behavior.
  • Experience in PCB design (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or comparable).
  • Understanding of power electronics, power supply, and system stability.
  • Experience in prototyping, system validation, and series production transfer.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary teams (mechanics, software, product development).

We Offer

  • Development of real physical systems with a direct impact on health and work.
  • High degree of creative freedom in architecture and technical implementation.
  • Fast iteration from idea → prototype → real product.
  • Close collaboration between electronics, mechanics, and product development.
  • No silos – real system responsibility.
  • Dynamic environment with high technical depth.
  • Economically independent, sustainably growing company.
  • Team with high execution speed and technical standards.
