About the role

Job Summary

The C&I Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing commercial and industrial solar energy systems. The role involves technical analysis, system sizing, proposal development, and supporting the sales and project teams to deliver efficient and cost-effective energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. System Design & Engineering

    • Design solar PV systems for commercial and industrial clients (rooftop and ground-mounted).
    • Perform system sizing, energy yield analysis, and load assessments.
    • Prepare detailed electrical and structural designs.
    • Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, and system specifications.
  2. Technical Analysis

    • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
    • Analyze client energy consumption patterns.
    • Optimize system performance using simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope).
  3. Proposal Development

    • Prepare technical proposals and cost estimates.
    • Support the sales team with accurate system designs and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
    • Provide technical presentations to clients when required.
  4. Compliance & Standards

    • Ensure designs comply with local regulations and international standards.
    • Maintain documentation for permits and approvals.
  5. Project Support

    • Provide engineering support during project execution.
    • Review installation work to ensure alignment with design.
    • Troubleshoot design-related issues during implementation.
  6. Continuous Improvement

    • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Recommend improvements to design processes and tools.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.

Experience

  • 2–5+ years of experience in solar PV design, preferably in C&I projects.
  • Experience with hybrid systems (solar + battery + generator) is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in design tools such as:
    • AutoCAD
    • PVsyst / Helioscope
    • Excel (advanced level)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Electrical systems and components
    • Inverters, batteries, and solar modules
    • Load analysis and energy modelling

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales and project teams
  • Attention to details
