Solar Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Design Engineer to join our growing renewable energy team based in Zambia. This role is ideal for a professional with strong technical expertise in solar PV system design and a working proficiency in Afrikaans.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop solar PV systems (residential, commercial, and/or utility-scale)
• Perform site assessments, system sizing, and energy yield analysis
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Collaborate with project managers, installers, and clients to ensure optimal system performance
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and safety requirements
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
• Proven experience in solar PV design and engineering
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope or similar)
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and grid integration
• Fluency in Afrikaans (spoken and written) is essential
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to be based in Zambia
