Solution Architect

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Solution Architect with strong expertise in IDP to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale document automation solutions.

You will take ownership of designing and implementing end-to-end document processing solutions, leveraging cutting-edge OCR, AI, and automation technologies. You will play a key role in driving digital transformation and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across multiple industries.

Johannesburg (Woodmead) Contract (3–6 months) with potential to go permanent

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Delivery • Architect end-to-end solutions for document capture, classification, extraction, and validation • Design document processing pipelines across various document types (invoices, contracts, forms, medical records, etc.) • Implement OCR and document understanding technologies • Optimise processing accuracy, throughput, and cost-efficiency

Platform Implementation & Integration • Lead implementation and configuration of leading IDP platforms • Integrate solutions with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, ECM, RPA, workflow tools) • Design APIs and data integration layers • Establish document intake channels (email, API, scanning, mobile capture)

Architecture & Technical Leadership • Design scalable, secure, and resilient architectures (cloud and on-premise) • Develop architecture diagrams, data flows, and technical specifications • Conduct POCs and feasibility assessments • Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory standards

Executive Engagement & Proposal Development • Deliver high-impact presentations to C-suite and senior stakeholders • Translate technical concepts into clear business value and ROI • Lead solution workshops and discovery sessions • Develop compelling technical proposals, RFx responses, and business cases

Collaboration & Innovation • Mentor technical teams and provide architectural guidance • Collaborate with RPA and development teams • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in document automation

Requirements:

Experience • 3+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect within document processing / automation • 3+ years’ hands-on experience implementing IDP solutions • Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions • Strong track record engaging with executive stakeholders

Technical Expertise • Experience with at least two major IDP platforms (e.g., UiPath, ABBYY, Hyperscience, Automation Anywhere, Tungsten) • Deep understanding of OCR, ICR, and document processing technologies • Strong experience with document classification, extraction, and validation workflows • Integration experience with enterprise systems and APIs • Knowledge of cloud platforms, scalability, and modern architecture patterns

Additional Skills • Programming experience (Python, Java, or similar advantageous) • Understanding of AI/ML, NLP, and computer vision in document processing • Familiarity with security, compliance, and data privacy standards
