Solution Architect - Johannesburg - up to R1.3 mil per annum

Introduction

Our client is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions across cloud platforms. This role will focus on architecting modern, cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS and Azure, driving automation, and enabling continuous delivery through robust CI/CD pipelines.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and infrastructure teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Design end-to-end cloud-based solutions across AWS and Azure environments

• Define architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices

• Lead solution design workshops with business and technical stakeholders

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployments

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform

• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance requirements

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and DevOps teams

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements

• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives

• Document architecture designs, processes, and technical decisions

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices

• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation

• Knowledge of microservices architecture and API design

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is advantageous)

• Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in the cloud

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
