We are looking for new colleagues at our locations nationwide. In your role as "Solution Architect - Modern Data Platforms – Forward Deployed", you will take on both core technical tasks and strategic and business responsibilities. You will be involved in all central processes for the further development of the Data & AI Business Line, from project acquisition, project work, technical/functional quality assurance, to the further development of strategic portfolio elements.

Your Tasks

• End-to-End Customer Project Responsibility: You will work in direct contact with our customers, up to the level of IT decision-makers at board level, understand their challenges, infrastructure, and business processes, and design solutions tailored to their needs.
• End-to-End Architecture and Design: You will be responsible for the architecture of modern solutions in the areas of Data Platforms and Data Management, from initial requirements analysis through design to technical implementation, integration, and optimization.
• Hands-on Implementation: You will not only act in a consulting capacity but also contribute to the development of prototypes, POCs, or complete solutions and integrate them into the customer's IT landscape. You will bring sound knowledge of modern data platforms and data management concepts to design scalable, secure, and efficient data systems and develop data products.
• Portfolio Development and Solution Asset Management: You will make a central contribution to the strategic further development of the Atos data platform portfolio: You will identify reusable solution components from customer projects, reference architectures, and best practices that will be transferred into an internal solution portfolio. You will continuously curate and develop the portfolio to accelerate future projects and ensure quality standards.
• Market and Technology Scouting: You will support our trend scouting by continuously monitoring the Data Engineering, Data Management, and Data Platform markets, evaluating new technologies, and assessing frameworks and providers and their relevance for the Atos solution portfolio.
• Business Development: You will share responsibility for the expansion of existing business and customer relationships (Land-and-Expand), identify up-selling and cross-selling potentials, and actively support sales in acquiring new projects. You will provide technical credibility in sales discussions up to the board level of IT decision-makers and be responsible for creating and presenting technical proposals and RFP concepts.
• Thought Leadership: Through presentations, white papers, blog posts, and conference participation, you will position the company as an expert in the Data & AI field, thereby increasing brand awareness.

What You Bring

• You hold at least a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or related fields, along with extensive professional experience (> 5 years).
• You have very good practical experience with relevant classic data storage systems (Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and modern cloud-based platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, MS-Fabric, Apache Iceberg) as well as modular solutions based on containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Data products and the management of data products are familiar concepts to you, and you ideally have extensive experience in this area.
• You possess in-depth knowledge of current methods, guidelines, and best practices for developing data solutions and solution architectures along the entire DataOps lifecycle.
• You are familiar with and master modern data strategies and concepts, as well as the implementation of data governance solutions (IBM Knowledge Catalog, Unity Catalog, Collibra, OSS Datahub, OSS OpenMetadata) to such an extent that you can convincingly lead teams of architects, developers, and consultants.
• Good knowledge of at least two of the leading public cloud platforms and their available data management services in our region (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, IONOS) is required; knowledge of contemporary on-premise solutions is an advantage.
• You are capable of developing transition and transformation strategies for the migration from on-premise legacy solutions to cloud-based modern data platforms and data product management, and of defining and implementing suitable methodologies and projects within the team.
• A high degree of mobility (national) is a fundamental prerequisite for success in this position.
• You have excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
