Solution Architect

About

We're looking for a high-energy Solution Architect to join our Managed Services department in Johannesburg. This is not a standard delivery role, its a critical position focused on the continuous service evolution of a live Tier-1 telecom environment.

You'll be the architectural lead responsible for translating complex retail business requirements into seamless functional realities, ensuring that new marketing offers and discount structures do not disrupt the core billing and charging engine.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary architectural bridge between customer Business Analysts and Huawei R&D/Operations teams.
• Lead the evolution of BSS platforms by designing new retail product offerings, discount structures, and promotional logic.
• Produce high-quality Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS) that map business needs to system capabilities.
• Create detailed sequence diagrams and integration specifications for new feature rollouts.
• Maintain the integrity of E2E BSS business flows across CRM, Billing, and Charging (OCS) systems as the environment evolves.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or Computer Science.
• +7 years of industry experience.
• Deep Telecommunications domain expertise specifically in Retail Billing, Charging, CRM, and Order Management.
• Proven track record in Service Evolution: designing and launching new features for a live production environment.
• Mastery in producing High-Level Designs (HLD) and technical Sequence Diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of integration protocols including REST, SOAP, and Diameter is essential.
• Hands-on understanding of BSS call flows (MSC to OCS/Billing).
