Position Summary
Medavie is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to play a key role in shaping and advancing our enterprise infrastructure strategy. In this role, you will design and guide the implementation of modern, secure, and scalable IT solutions that align with Medavie's long-term business objectives.
You will provide technical leadership across infrastructure initiatives, influence technology direction, and work closely with infrastructure, application, security, and operations teams. This is a senior, highly collaborative role with exposure to leadership and enterprise-wide decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate for the position of IT Solution Architect, you will be accountable for the following:
- Define and influence IT solution strategies that align with Medavie's long-term business goals.
- Act as Infrastructure Applications Management Process Owner, developing and maintaining architecture designs, runbooks, policies, processes, procedures and support documentation.
- Design, plan, and implement new infrastructure technologies and major system enhancements.
- Lead or contribute to complex solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure roadmaps and system lifecycle milestones.
- Collaborate with business units, IT architects, application teams, vendor management, and operations.
- Evaluate and manage release, deployment, and lifecycle management practices.
- Analyze availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability of services and systems.
- Present recommendations on new and emerging technologies to senior leadership, clearly articulating business value.
- Promote standardization and automation to improve operational efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Mentor and coach team members, acting as a technical role model and knowledge leader.
- Maintain architectural alignment with day?to?day operations by performing limited operational support and participating in an on?call rotation as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in a relevant IT role.
- 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365/Entra ID and email solutions (Exchange Server/Exchange Online, Proofpoint)
Other Qualifications
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and development lifecycles.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating solutions in Azure and on-premises.
- Strong knowledge of Azure core services and PaaS offerings, enterprise hardware/software systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere) and software engineering processes
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred / Assets
- Proven experience delivering large-scale IT solution deployments.
- Background as a system administrator, software developer, or IT operations professional with development experience.
- Knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management frameworks.
- Experience developing strategic solution architecture plans.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma.
Language Skills
- English (Spoken and Written) required. French (Spoken and Written) considered an asset
Security Clearance Requirement
- In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range
$88,158 - $110,197
