Senior Microsoft Alliance Solution Architect

TEKsystems

Remote · US Full-time Senior $130k – $200k/yr 4d ago

About the role

Description

The Senior Microsoft Alliance Solution Architect serves as the Senior technical enabler of our Microsoft partnership. Reporting directly to the Global Leader of the Microsoft Cloud AI Partner Program, this role works day to day in partnership with:

  • Practice Leaders (AI Business Solutions, Cloud & AI Platform, Security)
  • Alliance Management
  • Global Microsoft Partnership Leadership

Together, this leadership model ensures tight alignment between strategy, execution, and outcomes.

This role is intentionally designed with high autonomy and broad scope, balanced by deep collaboration. Success comes from influence, enablement, and orchestration — not formal authority.

How You’ll Create Impact

  • You operate as a force multiplier across teams and partners, amplifying the impact of practice leadership, alliance management, and Microsoft field engagement through technical clarity and shared execution.
  • You build strong, trust based relationships — internally and across Microsoft — knowing that progress in the Microsoft ecosystem is driven by credibility, collaboration, and consistency over time.
  • You move with speed and intent, balancing strategic foresight with pragmatic execution, and helping teams navigate ambiguity without slowing momentum.
  • You enable scale by designing systems, automation, and repeatable motions across marketplace, co sell, and partner operations — so success is not dependent on heroics.
  • You bring ingenuity and curiosity to the work, challenging conventional approaches and co creating new models for AI driven, agentic delivery in partnership with others.
  • While this role operates at a strategic level, much of the day to day work involves hands on alliance execution. This includes maintaining CRM and cosell hygiene, tracking program and compliance requirements, supporting funding and incentive submissions, coordinating case study production, and ensuring marketplace and Partner Center artifacts remain accurate and current.
  • Candidates who have operated inside large partner ecosystems will recognize this balance—and understand that durable influence is built through consistent execution, not just vision

Platform, Tooling & Automation Expectations

This role is expected to design, build, and continuously evolve alliance critical platforms and automation that power our Microsoft partnership at scale. These systems are not conceptual—they are operational, production grade, and deeply embedded in how we run marketplace, cosell, and partner programs.

  • Alliance & Partner Operations Platform: An internal, AI enabled alliance hub that orchestrates data, workflows, and insights across Partner Center, CRM, marketplace, and funding programs—leveraging Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric / OneLake, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Event Grid.
  • Marketplace & Offer Automation: Automated creation, management, and optimization of Microsoft Commercial Marketplace offers, including listing generation, validation, pricing, and GTM readiness—integrated with Partner Center APIs, Power Automate, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Opportunity Intelligence & Solution Mapping: AI driven processing of CRM and cosell opportunities using Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and data pipelines to improve data quality, solution alignment, and Microsoft field relevance.
  • Differentiation & Competency Enablement: Workflow driven assessment and document analysis to accelerate Microsoft Solutions Partner designations, advanced specializations, and solution partner differentiation—using Power Platform, Azure AI Services, and secure document intelligence.
  • Agentic & Copilot Led Systems: Design and application of agentic patterns using Copilot Studio, Azure AI orchestration, and extensibility models to reduce manual alliance operations and improve speed, consistency, and scale.

While this role partners closely with engineering and operations teams, candidates must be technically fluent enough to design architectures, influence implementation decisions, and prototype solutions—not simply consume platforms built by others.

Key Responsibilities

1. Microsoft Partner Differentiation & Strategy (In Partnership)

  • In close collaboration with Practice Leadership and Alliance Management, define and execute strategies to achieve and expand Microsoft Solutions Partner designations and advanced specializations.
  • Partner with internal leaders to translate Microsoft’s AI, Copilot, and platform roadmap into differentiated offerings and a clear enterprise value proposition.
  • Enable thought leadership across the organization — developing playbooks, solution narratives, and executive messaging that others can consistently reuse and scale.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on where Microsoft is heading and how we should invest ahead of the curve.

2. Microsoft Field Engagement & Co Sell Enablement

  • Serve as a Senior technical counterpart to Microsoft’s Enterprise Partner Solutions (EPS) organization — working with alliance leadership to build durable field relationships.
  • Enable Microsoft co sell success by aligning architecture, solution design, and customer outcomes — not by owning the sales motion directly.
  • Partner with account teams and Microsoft sellers to support complex enterprise conversations when technical credibility and future state thinking matter most.
  • Represent the organization at Microsoft events as part of a broader alliance leadership team, reinforcing a consistent, trusted presence.

3. Microsoft Programs, Marketplace & Partner Center

  • In close partnership with Alliance Management, Operations, and Practice Leadership, enable and optimize our participation across Microsoft’s core partner motions — including Partner Center (designations, co sell, incentives, reporting), the Microsoft Commercial Marketplace, Azure Migrate & Modernize, ISV Success, and Copilot and AI adoption programs — ensuring alignment to Microsoft priorities and field expectations.
  • Serve as the architect of alliance systems and automation, helping design how Partner Center, CRM, pipeline management, marketplace offers, and performance reporting integrate into a cohesive, scalable operating model — prioritizing repeatability, visibility, and speed over manual execution.
  • Enable a marketplace led growth motion by partnering with product, marketing, and alliance teams to shape listings, offers, pricing, and GTM motions that are easy for Microsoft sellers to co sell, simple for customers to buy, and scalable across enterprise segments.
  • Continuously evaluate new and emerging Microsoft programs, incentives, and GTM constructs, partnering with leadership to pilot, operationalize, and automate those that accelerate joint growth and customer outcomes.

4. Internal Enablement, Automation & Practice Alignment

  • Partner deeply with Practice Leadership to ensure Microsoft alignment is embedded in offerings, delivery models, and roadmaps.
  • Enable teams through guidance, architecture standards, training, and reusable assets — not through centralized control.
  • Help design and champion AI driven and agentic automation using Azure, Copilot, Power Platform, and related services to improve how the alliance and business operate.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on strategic deals and initiatives where Microsoft alignment is critical.

Experience, Background & Qualifications

Minimum Education / Abilities / Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline strongly preferred, or equivalent hands on technical and architectural experience in enterprise environments.
  • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology, Professional Services, Consulting, or Cloud Platforms required; 12+ years strongly preferred, with progressive responsibility across architecture, delivery, and partner facing roles.
  • This role is for a seasoned technologist, someone who can credibly discuss Azure architecture and AI platforms in executive and customer settings, and who also understands how modern cloud, data, and automation systems are designed and operated in production environments.
  • 5–8+ years of direct experience working within the Microsoft ecosystem, meeting one or more of the following criteria (strongly preferred and critical for success):
    • Experience at a Microsoft Global or Regional Systems Integrator (GSI/SI) or Microsoft focused professional services organization (e.g., Accenture, Avanade, Slalom, Deloitte, PwC, EY, Capgemini, Cognizant, Wipro, etc.).
    • Experience as a Microsoft Partner Solution Architect, Cloud Solution Architect, or Technical Specialist working closely with Microsoft field, engineering, or partner teams.
    • Deep experience operating inside Microsoft partner constructs including co sell, Partner Center, marketplace, incentives, and enterprise field engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience across services delivery, pre sales / solution architecture, and partner led sales motions, with the ability to bridge technical architecture, business outcomes, and go to market execution.
  • Proven experience working with hyperscale cloud partners (Microsoft Azure required; AWS and/or GCP experience beneficial), with Microsoft being the primary and preferred ecosystem for this role.

Microsoft Technical & Ecosystem Expertise

  • Strong, working knowledge of the Microsoft cloud and AI stack, including:
    • Azure (compute, networking, storage, data, and platform services)
    • Data & AI (Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, Machine Learning concepts)
    • Copilot (Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, extensibility and adoption patterns)
    • Microsoft 365 & Teams (Modern Work, collaboration, extensibility)
    • Security (Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra ID / Azure AD concepts)
    • Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Copilot Studio)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft partner programs and motions, including:
    • Microsoft Solutions Partner designations and advanced specializations
    • Partner Center (co sell, reporting, incentives, compliance)
    • Microsoft Commercial Marketplace / Azure Marketplace
    • Azure Migration & Modernization and Customer Immersion Experiences
    • Field led enterprise co sell and GTM alignment

Certifications (Strongly Preferred)

Microsoft certifications are strongly preferred and viewed as a signal of commitment and credibility in the ecosystem. Ideal candidates will hold — or be willing to obtain — certifications such as:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (highly preferred)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Microsoft Security Engineer / Cybersecurity Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Enterprise Administrator

Deliverables (Representative, Not Exhaustive)

In the first 12–18 months, success in this role is measured through tangible outputs as well as long term ecosystem impact. Deliverables may include:

  • Expansion and optimization of Microsoft Commercial Marketplace listings, offers, and GTM alignment
  • Achievement and expansion of Microsoft Solutions Partner designations, advanced specializations, and Solution Designations (SDPs)
  • Development of enterprise grade case studies, solution narratives, and Microsoft ready reference architectures
  • Creation of certification accelerators, technical enablement assets, and office hours to uplift practice and alliance readiness
  • Measurable improvement in CRM and cosell data quality, pipeline hygiene, and Microsoft field usability
  • Formal Azure architecture reviews and solution readiness assessments aligned to Microsoft Well Architected Framework, Cloud Adoption Framework, and partner program requirements.
  • Enablement of partner funding motions, including incentives, co op, and Microsoft investment programs
  • Deliverables evolve as Microsoft priorities shift, but the expectation remains consistent: this role turns strategy into repeatable execution.

What Success Looks Like (Outcomes That Matter)

  • Microsoft field and Enterprise Partner Solutions teams engage us earlier and more strategically because alignment is intuitive, technical credibility is clear, and collaboration is easy.
  • Co sell and marketplace motions scale predictably — driven by systems, automation, and repeatable patterns rather than individual heroics.
  • Our practices move faster and with greater confidence because Microsoft alignment is embedded by design, not retrofitted after the fact.
  • AI driven and agentic automation reduces friction across alliance operations, pipeline management, reporting, and partner execution — allowing teams to focus on customer impact.
  • Leadership consistently experiences this role as a force multiplier — accelerating strategy, execution, and Microsoft outcomes rather than introducing complexity or drag.
  • Microsoft increasingly views us as a frontier ESI partner: technically credible, operationally mature, and willing to invest ahead of the curve.
