Technical Lead / Solution Architect
Art of Spin
About the role
About Art of Spin
Art of Spin is a fast-growing game development studio focused on building high-quality slot games, instant win games, and casino content for a global audience.
We are building a new B2B AI product for the iGaming industry: an external retention intelligence platform that helps operators predict player behavior, identify churn and VIP signals, generate next-best-action recommendations, and eventually trigger engagement mechanics through CRM and gamification workflows.
This is not a maintenance role inside an existing product team.
This is a true 0→1 build role .
We are looking for a Founding Lead Engineer who can take a greenfield product from early concept and fragmented requirements to prototype, MVP, and the foundation of a scalable engineering system.
At the current stage, we do not need a “people manager first.”
We need a hands-on technical builder who is comfortable working in ambiguity, moving fast, making sound architectural decisions, and helping shape both the product and the technical approach.
What you will do
Phase 1: Discovery, framing, and early prototyping
- Work directly with the founder and key stakeholders to turn an early product concept into a practical execution plan
- Clarify functional and non-functional requirements through active stakeholder discovery
- Challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and help define what the product actually needs to do first
- Rapidly build prototypes to test product flows, technical feasibility, and integration approaches
- Create lightweight but clear technical and product documentation as the product takes shape
Phase 2: MVP definition and build
- Turn validated prototype learnings into an MVP architecture and implementation plan
- Design and build the first version of the platform with a strong bias for speed, pragmatism, and extensibility
- Define the right technical trade-offs for a real B2B product: integration model, latency expectations, deployment approach, observability, and reliability boundaries
- Help shape how the platform connects to operator ecosystems, CRM systems, and data sources
- Partner closely with ML and product stakeholders to make sure predictive outputs can be operationalized in real workflows
Phase 3: Foundation for scale
- Help define what should remain simple, what should be hardened, and what should be rebuilt after MVP validation
- Contribute to hiring decisions and help assess future engineering needs
- Potentially grow into a broader technical leadership role if that matches your strengths and ambitions
What this role is really about
This role is for someone who is energized by:
- high ambiguity and fast iteration
- building before the org chart exists
- translating business intent into technical reality
- prototyping quickly without losing architectural judgment
- operating as a senior individual contributor first, with leadership potential over time
This role is probably not a fit if you are looking primarily for:
- an established team structure
- fully defined requirements from day one
- a role focused mostly on people management
- a stable environment with fixed processes and low uncertainty
What we are looking for
- Strong backend engineering background with experience building scalable systems from scratch
- Proven ability to work in ambiguous early-stage environments and create structure where little exists
- Strong product instinct and comfort working directly with business stakeholders
- Ability to move between discovery, architecture, coding, and technical decision-making
- Experience designing API-first and integration-heavy systems
- Good judgment on pragmatic MVP architecture vs overengineering
- Strong communication skills in English
Nice to have
- Experience in B2B SaaS, decisioning systems, CRM-linked products, or event-driven architectures
- Exposure to AI-enabled products, recommendation systems, behavioral analytics, or retention-related use cases
- Experience in iGaming, sportsbook, casino, martech, or customer engagement platforms
- Experience helping hire early engineering teams or shaping technical org design after MVP stage
The stack is not fixed yet .
This is a greenfield environment, and we expect the right person to help shape the stack based on product needs, integration realities, speed of execution, and long-term maintainability.
We are open to candidates from different technology backgrounds, but you should be comfortable making practical architecture and stack decisions in an early-stage setting.
Why this role is interesting
- Chance to shape a new AI-native B2B product from the beginning
- High ownership and direct access to decision-making
- Real influence on product, architecture, and technical direction
- Opportunity to become a key technical pillar of the business as it evolves
- A rare 0→1 role where technical judgment matters as much as execution speed
Location
Europe preferred.
- We are open to remote candidates within compatible time zones.
