Solutions Engineer

About the Role

On behalf of a client, we are recruiting a talented, technically minded Solutions Engineer to help design, architect, and build innovative insurance products. In this role, you will work closely with their teams and stakeholders to understand existing systems, challenges, and business needs, then translate these into solutions that are efficient, low risk, and easy to maintain. You will play a pivotal role in shaping product architecture and ensuring products are accurate, robust, and aligned with requirements. You will collaborate with multiple technical teams, both internal and external, to develop scalable, clean solutions using their tools and packages. Your work will directly impact the speed and success of onboarding, creating insurance products that are simple for other engineers to integrate and expand upon.

Location: Cape Town (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke insurance products and integrations for key clients using the platform.
• Guide clients through the integration process, from initial design to product launch.
• Answer technical product questions during implementation and support seamless product integrations.
• Advise prospective and new clients on technical solutions, including demos, workshops, and showcasing integration processes.
• Implement products following established coding standards and best practices.
• Test products thoroughly to ensure smooth, error‑free client experiences.
• Clearly and comprehensively document client requirements in product specification documents.
• Identify and proactively resolve potential client challenges and pain points.
• Collaborate closely with Projects, Product, and Sales teams to ensure full systems understanding before and during launch.
• Encourage clients to adopt platform‑aligned best practices consistently.
• Design solutions focused on rapid, effective system integration and accelerated speed‑to‑market.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5 years’ experience as a developer, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field preferred.
• Skilled at collaborating with clients to capture, define, and translate business requirements into functional solutions.
• Experienced in rapid prototyping, testing, and delivering effective technical solutions.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Detail‑oriented with solid coding, documentation, API integration, and data modeling skills.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary CTC: R660k – R840k per year
